The film can be cleaned using an ammonia-free solution and a microfiber cloth.
Allow to dry completely after installation.
Prepare the surface
It is essential that the glass is clean, free of dust or residue. Allow it to dry completely after cleaning and before installation.
It is also important to thoroughly clean the surface around the window so that no dust gets trapped between the film and the window during installation.
Prepare the soapy water solution by mixing 1 tablespoon of dish soap in 4 cups of cold water. Pour the water solution into a spray bottle.
Prepare the installation
It is preferable to proceed in steps 2.
One person will firmly hold the top corners of the film in front of them while their colleague completely peels back the protective film from the adhesive surface. Nothing should come into contact with the sticky surface. The adhesive should be facing the person removing the protective film.
Generously spray soapy water onto the adhesive/sticky surface of the film . Then, generously spray the surface of the glass .
Once both the adhesive surface of the film AND the glass are completely wet, the application of the film can begin.
Install the film
Place the wet adhesive side of the frosted film onto the glass and slide it into the desired position. It is not recommended to peel the film off the glass to reposition it: this will prevent dust from getting trapped underneath.
Use the application spatula covered with a cloth to remove any water under the film by pushing it towards the edges without damaging it. Press firmly on the cloth-covered spatula.
The fittings.
For panels wider than 47 inches , the adhesive vinyl is installed with a 0.5-inch overlap between the right and left panels. This technique is called an overlap . This overlap will be visible, but a double cut can eliminate it.
The double cut: using a ruler, cut the two strips/panels together right at the center of the overlap . Then remove the first small cut strip from the top and then the second one from the bottom. Your join will then be invisible.
!!!! Do not press too hard on the X-Acto knife to avoid cutting the glass.
Finishing
Press firmly into the corners where there is excess film and cut it off with an X-Acto style knife.
It is recommended to wait until the film is dry before cutting off the excess.
The film can be cleaned using an ammonia-free solution and a microfiber cloth.
